At Kikonda Forest Reserve a variety of tree species is grown with the goal to sequester Carbon Dioxide, to produce sawlogs and to produce fuel wood.

Per year app. 1000 ha equalling to app. one million trees are planted.

The species are:

Pine (Pinus caribaea, Pinus oocarpa)
Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus grandis)
Araucaria (Araucaria cunninghamii)
Muzizi (Maesopsis emminii)
Planted Areas at the Kikonda Forest Reserve untill the end of 2010
